Time stopped but clocks kept ticking
Unbearable noise knocking on the door of even more unbearable silence.

Trickles of darkness threatened to overwhelm, to fill.
But still there were cracks of light.

On March 12th 2020 the President of France announced that all schools, colleges, high schools, universities and childcare would be closing. Four days later France went into strict lockdown.

I started filming as an escape. To carve out some time away from the relentlessness of the bad news, the demands of home schooling and the spiralling uncertainty about everything we had ever known.

Emotions flowed through movement creating mini capsules of beauty to remind us all it was still there.

And then the beauty birthed a new creativity and different way of seeing, of thinking, of documenting...

… and even sometimes of being!

I made a mini mindful film each day for 80 days. Ending with a mini film of hope eternal…
